Four friends/colleagues (spearheaded by the ‘Buckled Wheelers’ – a charitable fundraising organisation ‘Dave Shields & Tony Gee’ of Security Plus Ltd.) undertook a sponsored cycle ride along the canal towpaths and streets of South Staffordshire on Sunday 4th Dec 2022.
The journey of approx 50 miles took 7 hours to complete, on a frosty and incredibly cold morning.
Incredibly the four raised a total of £1,345 which will be used by the food bank to supply 90 vulnerable people with a 3 course lunch on Christmas Day.
However the generosity didn’t stop there, Tony Gee Chairman and owner of Security Plus Ltd. more than doubled the monies raised with a personal donation of an additional £1,500!!
As well as providing the Christmas meals, this additional money will be used to supply meat vouchers in the run up to Christmas to families struggling with the cost of living crisis.
Security Plus Ltd. is a family run business, founded in Stoke on Trent, and both Dave & Tony (Buckled Wheelers) have been involved in many charitable events, including cycling the Great Glen Way and a London to Paris cycle ride too, over the years raising donations approaching £300k – supporting:-Donna Louise Trust and Leukaemia & Lymphoma Research ….amongst others.
